Nomos Club Serial Number Year
I have a seiko couture watch with 100m depth. Lost the rubber/ silicone band. I the serial number is 261108. The 4 numbers on the bottom case look like 7182- okxo? I already bought a band somewhere else. and it was way too big. What size 8s my lug width? Do you carry it? Thanks.
Given that such attention has been paid to the movement, we clearly deduce the level of detailing and the number of man-hours that went into the Xi caliber. Although the Xi caliber does appear to be a derivative of their own ε (Epsilon) movement, and not to mention that the Tangomat GMT was the first one to be fitted with it, it still took Nomos two years to develop the Zürich Weltzeit. An additional 23 completely new parts were added before the watch was officially finished. The whole manufactured movement Xi, its dial, and even down to the lubricating oil, were developed anew, especially for the this watch. What a clear testament to how much effort was put into developing this complication.
Secondly, although Jose’s research is very thorough, there are limits. His work highlights the difficulty in arriving at definitive, inarguable conclusions when combing through the murky world of vintage watches. Some of his posts are pretty conclusive, but where they concern possible fakes or franken-watches, often you’re left with a lot of strong evidence and persuasive argument, but no smoking gun. Take this post from 2021, which rigorously combs through Patek Philippe serial numbers, makes a very convincing point about the state of the dial, but for its coup de grace (the weirdness concerning the extract from the archives), relies on the rumour that decades ago, individuals at Patek Philippe were bribed to falsify the paperwork. Very few editors will indulge a 3000-word story that doesn’t quite have a rock-solid argument at its core and, to boot, may well get you a letter from some of Geneva’s best-paid lawyers.
''The Dodgers have been very fortunate with Nomo because basically he is a special case,'' Claire says. ''Here was a kid who, after six years in Japan, wanted to see if he could pitch in one of our major leagues and was somehow able to leave the Kintetsu Buffaloes with the club's approval. It's never happened before and to me the Dodgers in Hideo got the Greg Maddux of Japanese baseball. Let me add that we have no intention of doing anything like this on a regular basis, nor are we going to send any scouts to Japan.'' 2ff7e9595c
